Cory Young
It’s often said that songwriting comes from life experience, and Cory’s music is a perfect example. Growing
up was spent between the white sandy beaches of Hawaii on the island of Oahu, and running dirt roads on
his 4 wheeler in the rural town of Carleton, Michigan. The son of a NAVY Corpsman, Cory was fortunate
enough to experience a childhood full of variety and culture. It is this upbringing and nearly a decade in
the Nashville music scene that shapes the music he plays today. Best described as country with a little
salt and lime, you’ll find a mix of Island country and Americana. You’ll also find a fair dose of classic rock,
and top 40 thrown in the mix with his original songwriting. After hurricane Irma, Cory and his family
relocated to the west coast and currently reside in Las Vegas where he performs when not traveling to
shows.
“Life Looks Best”, his first studio album since 1999, has 11 tracks and a variety of sounds, and is
packed full of original songwriting. Recorded in Nashville with some of the worlds best musicians and
assisted in production by Grammy nominated songwriter and award winning producer Aaron Scherz the
album delivers a sound that is unique and fresh. The title track “Life Looks Best” went on to be nominated
for the 2016 TRMA Song of the Year, and helped Cory get nominated for the 2016 Horizon award.
The 2017 album “SeaHabilitation” came a year later and has been well received, with several singles
performing well on radio stations, including his song “The Call” performed in honor of First Responders. It
was performed for the City of Las Vegas’s Safety Officer Award Recognition, or S.O.A.R awards, just days
before the October 1st shooting in downtown Las Vegas. “I think this connection we had with the city,
being a former Paramedic, and the strength we saw afterward is what drew us to Las Vegas”. Enjoying his
new life in Las Vegas, as well as the mountains and pacific ocean, Cory’s new album "Beach Philosophy"
was recently released and is getting rave reviews. For more info, go to https://www.coryyoungmusic.com
